Altimeter Privacy Policy

The app does not automatically collect data

Altimeter has no accounts, ads, analytics, tracking, or third-party data SDKs. The app itself does not automatically upload location, altitude, climb records, or other personal data to any server operated by the developer.

Location and sensors

Location, altitude, and barometer readings are used only on your device to calculate live altitude, elevation gain, and altitude curves. Background location is used only after you start an active recording so it can continue while the screen is locked or the app is in the background. The app never requests Always location access. Motion & Fitness access is used only for the barometer to improve elevation accuracy.

Local records and sharing

Climb records stay on your device and are not synced to the cloud. An achievement card leaves the app only when you choose to share it through the iOS share sheet. The selected destination then handles it under its own privacy policy.

Feedback and support

When you choose to open and submit the feedback form on this site, the site stores the feedback you enter, optional contact information, and the App version, iOS version, and selected language supplied with the link. This information is used only to reply, investigate problems, and improve the product; it is not sold or used for advertising. The feedback site is hosted by OpenAI Sites, and the data is stored in its managed Cloudflare D1 database. Hosting providers may process request metadata needed to operate and secure the service. Feedback is kept only for a reasonable period needed to handle it and support later product improvements. To request access or deletion, contact the developer through the support channel on the App Store product page.

In-app purchases

Apple processes purchases and purchase restoration through StoreKit. The developer never receives your card, billing, or other payment information. Apple’s privacy policy governs Apple’s handling of that data.

Retention and deletion

Records remain on your device until you delete them in the app or remove the app. Deleting the app also deletes all records stored by the app on that device.

Children and policy changes

Altimeter does not knowingly collect children's personal information automatically, and the feedback page is not directed to children. If the developer learns that a child submitted personal information, it will be deleted after notice. If this policy changes materially, this page and its effective date will be updated.

Contact

Questions about this policy can be directed to developer Icy Li through the support channel listed on the App Store product page, or by voluntarily using the feedback page on this site.
